Water lillies

美術館とか博物館とか大好き。
たまに値段が高くてカチンとくるけど、暇があると結構行く。
そういうところって貴重な展示品を守るためとかいって、
あほみたいに館内の気温が低くて、いつも凍えることになる･･･
でも行く。

今回、上野西洋美術館。
私は王道にも、モネが好きだなと思った。
特に有名な『睡蓮』の前で写真をとってふと思った。

この絵って世界に何枚あるんだろう･･･
上野にあるってことは、世界に1つってわけじゃなさそうだ。

ちょっと調べたら･･･
モネが後半生を過ごしたアトリエ件住居には
「花の庭」と「水の庭」の二つの庭があったそうです。
彼の後半生はこの自宅の庭の絵を描くことに費やされ、
最終的にたどり着いたのは水の上に浮く睡蓮の葉を描くこと。
体や目が不自由になりほとんど外出することのなくなったモネは恐ろしいほどのスピードで作品を残していったんだそうです。
同じ題材でも時期によってかなり異なった作風になっているということです。
へぇ〜。

I love to go to the museum or that kind of Places.
Sometimes, it is too expensive for me to enter it
and sometimes it is too cold for me in the building to protect many of invaluable staff.
But still, I can't help going there.

I went to the National Museum of Western Art in Ueno, Tokyo.
I liked Monet like ordinary people and wonderd how many Water Lillies pictures drawn by him are in the world.
I did not believe that the picture we looked in Ueno was the only one.
So, I checked a little bit and found out the following...

Monet's atelier, where he also lived in latter half of his life, had 2 gardens.
One is the flower garden, another is the water garden.
He spent his latter life to draw those gardens and what he finally did was drawing floating Water Lillies. He had drawn a lot of them very fast, especially after he became disabled and could not going out.
Those pictures are different depending on when he drew even though they had same theme.
